What is the difference between ICW hard panel insert plate and STA hard panel insert plate?
A2: ICW stands for 'in conjunction with', meaning an ICW plate should be paired with a Impact-Resistant vest for optimal protection. Alone, an ICW plate cannot deliver the necessary protective performance and must be used with a IIIA High-Velocity Resistant vest to effectively stop projectiles. Fragments might penetrate an ICW plate but will be halted by the vest. Many High-Velocity Resistant vests feature a large pocket in the front specifically designed to carry an ICW plate. Conversely, STA stands for 'stand-alone', signifying that a STA plate can function independently. STA plates are ideal for tactical operations where a vest may be too cumbersome.
